Partner Schools Receive Increase Solar Energy Capacity
The Power Utility in Jeremie is extremely unreliable. In order to support the computer and Interactive Projector classrooms with consistent electriciity, Tek4Kids expanded the number of solar panels and batteries for each school during the summer of 2026. Not only does Tek4Kids power the classrooms, but the water purification systems, network equipment, security systems, and office equipment in the Directors' office.
During periods of time with multiple cloudy days in a row, the schools would sometimes run out of power before the end of the school day. The additional energy capacity not only provides consistency of power access throughout the day, but facilitates the vision of some of our partner schools to offer courses into the evening hours.
We are also providing sensor data to the school directors to better understand the power capacity on their campus.
