    Lights Are on at St. Louis Elementary

    Tek4Kids installed electricity at St. Louis Elementary in 2014. Since installed it has provided reliable electricity that helps to improve the quality of the schools as well as the daily life of the students and teachers in their learning environments. Since having the electricity the school has improved their functionality and the students have better learning experiences. Based on our survey, 90% of teachers and 84% of students said they have seen the effects of having electricity at their schools.

    Electricity is a Necessity at St. Therese Montessori School

    St. Therese Montessori school was the first school that Tek4Kids partnered with in 2011. Providing electricity to the school was a critical part of helping the school become a better learning environment for the students. Prior to the partnership with Tek4Kids, St. Therese did not have electricity, had almost no books for students and no clean water. Students were missing school due to water-borne illnesses and had little interest in learning.

    Technical School Set to Begin in Fall, 2015!

    This September, Tek4Kids will continue its efforts to provide a brighter future to students in Haiti by beginning its college-level program. Building on our experience and knowledge gained over the past several years, we will provide scholarships to students who exhibit strong motivation and academic achievement to enter the technical school. We plan to train these young adults in Information Technology fields such as computer programming and website design.

    Big Steps Made on the Last Trip to St. Louis High School

    Tek4Kids recently sent a team to Haiti for fifteen days to work on our latest projects at St. Louis High School in Jeremie. In addition to the computer education program that we are offering at St. Louis High School, we also wanted to help the school and its students by providing electric power and clean water.

  • Upcoming Projects at Brother Paulin School

    Upcoming Projects at Brother Paulin School

    Tek4Kids has many projects in the pipeline to help improve the situation of Brother Paulin School. Our future projects are based on getting volunteers and donations to help the school. That includes a kitchen and a cafeteria, where the women currently cook with firewood. The smoke created by burning these chunks of wood endangers the health of the cooks as well as the children, not to mention the sanitary standards of the kitchen. We also want to improve the school yard, renovate the old building and add electricity and computers to a classroom.

    The Opening Ceremony at St. Therese Montessori

    On February 22, 2011, the water purification system at St. Therese Montessori School was officially inaugurated. Many people from the community of Jeremie, including students and teachers were in attendance for the opening ceremony, along with team members from Tek4Kids and the Cathedral of the Assumption, members of our Haitian construction crew, and our translator, Baba Langder.
