Opened in 2007 with the express purpose of serving the street children of Jeremie, St. John Bosco now enrolls 207 students in grades 1-6. The school's mission is to combat delinquency, violence and insecurity in Haiti by enabling those who are poor to attend school. In addition to its regular curriculum, students learn trades such as embroidery, sewing, and carpentry.
Partnering with St. John Bosco since 2013, Tek4Kids added an exciting component to its traditional efforts: free adult education evening classes. Everyone in the community is welcome to participate. Such programs are designed to use existing schools as hubs, expanding Tek4Kids' services to the entire community. St. John Bosco is a shining example of how well this can work.
