Interested in making an investment in our work with students in Haiti? We have two new ways you might consider donating: through the donation of stock or through an IRA Charitable Rollover.
Persons can donate stocks to Tek4Kids through electronic transfer or by mail. If you are interested in making a stock donation, please click here for more details or contact Cheryl Davis at cheryld@tek4kids.org.
The other method is through the new IRA Charitable Rollover law, which allows donors to move up to $100,000 from an IRA directly to a qualified charity such as Tek4Kids without having to pay income taxes on the money.
Here is how the IRA Charitable Rollover works:
• If you are 70.5 or older, you can give up to $100,000 directly from your IRA to charities such as Tek4Kids.
• The transfer generates neither taxable income nor a tax deduction, so you benefit even if you do not itemize your tax deductions.
• If you have not taken your required minimum distribution for the year, your IRA Charitable Rollover gift can satisfy all or part of that requirement.
• The transfer may be made in addition to any other planned charitable giving.
